has provided significant service to Minnesota arts and community theatres. In her work and volunteer activities, she is an excellent resource and advocate for the thetare and the arts. Her experience in the theatre community includes working at The Guthrie as the Assistant Controller. She retired from a position in the human resources department of the Minneapolis Community Development Agency where she helped to keep community focused on the theatre and the arts. Her active participation in community theatre includes being the assistant director and production coordinator for City Stocks production of "The Shawl", the Region V entry at the American Association of Community Theatre national festival in Omaha. She also served as its executive director. As a Lakeshore Players Board member she played a key role helping this community theatre from White Bear Lake to represent the US in the 1996 Tayama festival with its production of "Love Course".
Donnas leadership has been critical in the growth of the Minnesota Association of Community Theatres. A member of the MACT Board since 1987, she has serverd as Vice-President, President, Treasurer and is currently serving as an at-large board member. From 1994 to 2001, Donna was the Region V representative on the AACT Board and was instrumental in starting the Region V Association. She has served as a chair or co-chair for regional conferences and festivals including the 2002 National AACT Conference in Minneapolis. Her efforts are international in scope having served as a delegate at four World Congress of IATA: Ankara, Turkey in 1995; Monoco in 1997; Marco in 1999; and Nova Scotia in 2003.
She held a seat on the Minneapolis Arts Commission and is currently active in her neighborhood redevelopment organization. She has also served on the NEMA (North East Minneapolis Arts) Board. Part of these activities include managing the arts programs in the local park and planning for the construction of a new neighborhood community center which will support the arts. While wintering in Palm Springs, California she is a volunteer at the local Senior Center.
