was active in community theatre in Fergus Falls for many years. In fact, he has a long legacy of summer community theatre that spans over a dozen years. He often spearheaded multiple performances every summer on the campus of the community college - now called Minnesota State. The Fergus Falls community theatre was housed on the college campus during those years. When Jim retired, the community theatre program missed him dearly and it has taken time to re-energize.
Fergus Falls has experienced a resurgence of interest in community theatre and A Center for the Arts in downtown Fergus Falls. Using Jim McDonald as a model, its goal is to once again attain the stature of community theatre during Jim McDonald's tenure.
