Kris has a wonderful gift when it comes to teaching 40 children on stage to dance. Joel Soukkala said "As a Childrens Theater co-director, I cant imagine working without her. She knows how to push kids just enough to make a great show. I have learned many of the techniques I use from watching her."
CST is now in its new facility (Encore! Performing Arts Center & Gallery) located in Cloquet, MN. Since the move into the new facility, Kris has grown into a new role at the Encore, as the Art Curator. She is a talented artist and has had many of her painted chairs featured in a number of galleries throughout the state. In her new role as Art Curator, Kris donates her time coordinating art shows that correspond to each of the productions at the Encore. She is responsible for contacting local artists to feature their work in our space, hang each show and keep an inventory of what is there. The gallery has been a wonderful addition to CSTs space and has opened up the door to many new and upcoming artists.
Her dedication and compassion for the arts makes her a great choice for this award.
