DUE DATE
Call to order
Meeting called to order at 3:00pm.

  • Secretary Report –Cliff moved to approve/Sandy 2nd – passed
  • Treasurer Report – We are $5300 ahead of last years total! We keep increasing our net worth. MACT made $3600 at MACT Fest 2007!!   (10 times the profit from 2005).
  • Bill walked through the Festival budget. Sold more packages than original plan although local ticket sales were light.   Tim moved to approve Treasurer’s Report/Robb 2nd – passed.
  • Per Cliff, we might need Attorney General Report for July.

MACT Fest 2007 Assessment
MACT FEST 2007

  • Discussion regarding the adjudicators.

  • Mark (whose theater went on to Regional’s) said that he has an appreciation of the local festival – how well planned and organized compared to the regional festival.

  • We would suggest getting a firm commitment from the next community hosting festival to sell tickets.   Such as the theater buys the MACT Fest tickets and they sell them.   We did have higher single ticket sales this year.

  • Can ushers watch the shows? It depends on the door placement – but someone has to be able to prevent people coming in during the shows.

  • Technical Co-Chairs would be a good idea.   Split 14 shows between the two.    Too much work for one person.

  • It wouldn’t be a MACT Fest without problems (dead pigeons, leaking roofs, etc) – they just ‘add flavor’ to the event!!

  • It was a great festival with a high-level of productions with an amazing emcee.

  • Jan requested no more silent auction on the 3rd floor PLEASE!

Website
·         Committee met at Larry’s place. Sent tasks to Michael to be completed – he said they would be done.   “Error report not popping up”   Calendar issues?   Edit existing entries?
·         Larry has list of member company ID’s and passwords – If you’d like yours today – see Larry.
·         We need a newsletter for member theaters with their company ID/password and directions on how to post on the site.

·         Discussions on having Minnesota host the 2011 AACT Fest.   Burnsville is getting a new performance center – ground-breaking on July 12, 2007.    Bill looked at the plans – looks good – would be a good location for a national festival.
·         Need to raise $5 million for enhancements.
·         Bad thing is that Burnsville does not have a lot of hotel rooms at this time.    Talking to Burnsville Convention Bureau.
·         Would need more volunteers but there are several groups involved.
