Attendees: Julianna Skluzacek, William Muchow, Jan Dickinson, Larry Pint,
Jon Skaalen & Stephanie Weiss
Called to Order at 2:40pm
Introductions. – Not needed (we all know each other)
Secretary Report – Minutes from October meeting (taken by Jon Skaalan) and December 2006 meeting – correction: should be Tuesdays with Morrie not Mornings with Morrie.
Motion to accept minutes as corrected – Bill, 2nd Larry, all agreed.
Treasurer Report – no report was received before today’s meeting.
Website – Julianna got a note from Michael, he has given the # and way into the site.
We are very close to being able to have our people post on the site. We will need to have all posting screened before posting. Show reviews can already be posted – just send to Bill Muchow.
Larry will send MACT Fest brochure PDF to Michael for posting on site.
We have a formal project description in order to post for the position of site coordinator. How much time commitment is needed? Site Committee to meet in Willmar to discuss further.
Discussion of state map/grid with member community theaters listed. We could possibly use the Regional State Arts Council map.
We will wait until after the MACT Fest before asking who owns the rights to the website.
Accessibility Plan – Jon Skaalen
The committee met in December – discussed interpreters for meetings, festivals, theater events. Referred to different accesses for theaters. Overall, the MACT Access Plan is good. Jon will send notes to Board before Willmar.
Committee met and approved the Plan – no Red Flags. THANK YOU JON!!
MACT FEST Report
Tech weekend went very well - 8 or 9 theaters attended. Willmar – new executive director – Bill Morris.
Jan found space to set up the silent auction / 2nd floor in the building next door-it is handicap accessible via elevator.
Jan needs the addresses of the adjudicators.
Publicity to local areas: local Post papers, Star Tribune, Pioneer Press, Lavender Magazine, Mpls/St.Paul magazine, Callboard.org, TCTheater & Film, The Wake (new U of M paper), and Fringe Website.
Program will go to printers on March 20th. Add In Memoriam pages for Eric Peterson & Robert Samples.
Fliehr Award to go to Bob Healy – Julianna will call him to ask him to come to Fest to receive his award.
Membership packets – Rob & Mark to work on these. E-blast theaters regarding selling tickets.
Stephanie will ask Greg Toltzman if he would like to be an official timer.
The Willmar Barn Theater could still use a heavy duty clean-up (aka: Clean Sweep)
NEW BUSINESS
Bill & Jon are off to the National AACT Board Meeting.
Stephanie will be the new voice of the MACT Hotline – Jon will send her the information for signing into the phone lines.
Stephanie suggested perhaps getting a MACT Board email addresses: such as info@mactboard.net / stephanie@mactboard.net / silentauction@mact.net
BRAG TIME
Jon – Stillwater hosting “Depth of the Ocean” (Fringe 2006 show performed IN a pool)
Larry – “Moon Over Buffalo” Feb 16, 17, 23, 24 at Montgomery Town Hall/dinner & show. “Our Town” at the high school – he is doing the lighting.
Bill – working on “MacBeth” for MACT. Pre-Fest performance will be in Burnsville. Applause Community Theater is doing “A Kids Summer Nights Dream” Feb 9, 11 & for the annual fund-raiser/silent auction & other acts.
Juliana – Little Theater of Owatonna presents: “Company” Feb 23 – Mar 3. Merlin Players holding auditions. They had a sold-out encore of “Tuesdays with Morrie”!!
Stephanie – “Wonderland” at the Guthrie this weekend and Fridays in Feb “The Kiki Show” at the Bryant Lake Bowl and “Urinetown the Musical” at Heritage Community Theater in Maplewood in May.
Larry moved to adjourn meeting – 2nd by Jon – all agreed.
MEETING ADJOURNED – Dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory!
