MACT Fest Invitations were sent out to participants (and NONE were returned as bad address!).   The deadline is November 30, 2008.

Print deadline for festival package in January 2009.

Sara has received our first entry for the Fest – Sweet Charities/Mark Margolis.
Next MACT Fest committee will be held before the next Board meeting on December 13 in White Bear Lake.

ACT Across MN grant: photos & videos of performances are required but copyright laws prohibit the recording of shows – discuss ‘fair use segments’ for videos for submission purposes.   Should talk to legislature about not being required to violate copyright laws to apply for grants.

We should have an official MACT Fest photographer and/or videographer.   Check with the folks used for Fringe Festival shows.

Website Report: Financial report is posted on the site under the Board of Directors page.
Larry Pint asked if the Board would approve his sending postcards to MN schools advising them of the free posting service the website can provide for school performances.   Sara moved to accept the request/Doug 2nd – vote all approved except one vote was a decline.

Grant Writing:
McKnight Foundation would not take application from MACT.   Julianna talked to Dayna Gillespie (Creation In Common) who suggested the Doris Duke Foundation (Theatre MU recently received grant from that organization).   Also the MAR-DAC grant – January deadline.

Requested of Board for approval for Dayna to send letter of intent to Doris Duke instead of pursuing McKnight Foundation grant.   Yes, this was approved by Board.

C-MAC grant was sent in on time with some changes.

AACT Fest 2011
Next weekend, the AACT executive board is meeting in Burnsville, MN. – talk about the preliminary submission.   Bill is waiting on the Burnsville Art Center for a quote for the festival.   He has received quotes already from bus companies, hotels and catering companies.
